The Fiat 1400 Balbo awarded at Salvarola Terme

For the occasion of the 21st edition of the Trofeo Salvarola Terme the Lopresto Collection brought the Fiat 1400 Coupé Balbo of 2952, one of the firsts cars ever designed by Franco Scaglione that has been very admired by the public for its unusual lines.

The vehicle, presented at the Salone di Torino in 1952 and again in 1953, was made from the Carrozeria Balbo, before Scaglione started to work in Bertone creating amazing Alfa Romeo BAT. A reminder of these latter was the clear in pointed nose of the car and the rear fins of the 1400, that anticipates the stylistic features typical of the designer.

Recently restored, the car keeps intact the original interiors and in Salvarola it deserved the "best interiors" award in addition to the second place of its class.
To win the Best in Show was the Auto Avio 815 of the Righini Collection.
