At the Piombino-Livorno with the Lancia "Alfa"
For the first time this year the Lopresto Collection has participated at the Piombino-Livorno 1901, a gathering for means (cars and motorcycles) with more than 100 years. The second re-enactment of the first car Tuscan car competition, took place on Saturday 21st of April and there were 17 cars and 3 motorcycles. The oldest was a Aster of 1902.
For the occasion Corrado Lopresto brought the Lancia 12HP "Alfa" of 1908, one of the three existing cars of the first model produced by the Turin car manufacturer and the oldest model.
It's the chassis 102, sold in the US where it was with bodywork by Miller&Bros.
The Alfa 6C 2500 Berlinetta first of class in Kyoto
After the success of two years ago, with the victory of Best in Show at the first edition of the Concours d'Elegnce of Kyoto, the Lopresto Collection is back to triumph in Japan. The second edition of the concours, took place in the first weekend of April, has seen starring the bodywork Touring, with many cars.
Even this year the cars were guests in the Nijo Castle of Kyoto, UNESCO World heritage, thanks to the organization of Hidetomo Kimura, creator of the concours.
The Lopresto Collection, that in 2016 won the first prize with the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Bertone, has brought in Japan the very elegant 6C 2500 Sport Berlinetta Touring, masterpiece of 1939 built in few examples.
The car won the first place of its category (Touring Early Italian).
The Best in Show was won by a 6C 2500 SS Villa d'Este of 1951.
Debut in Salvarola Terme for the Diatto 20S
The Concours d'Elegance Trofeo Salvarola Terme, inaugurated in 2018. This year like the past one the event, has gathered high level cars, dedicating a great space for Fiat. Winner of the Best in Show was the Fiat 1500 Cabriolet Pinin Farina of 1940.
The Lopresto Collection has chosen Salvarola for the debut of a pre-war masterpiece which restoration has just completed.
It is the Diatto 20S Torpedo "Bateau" of 1923 with bodywork of the french Mouche&Cie. Greatest example of style of the "Roaring 20s" this elegant car has been brought back in Italy from Japan and restored in the original color but keeping intact the original interior. The mechanics, in the 20S sport version is the one which Alfieri Maserati drove a the time, official driver of Diatto.
The Lancia Sibilo at the Salone di Ginevra 2018
In the most important car show of Europe, the protagonists are not the last news anymore, but also the extraordinary models of the past. This year at the Salone di Ginevra, that takes place from the 8th until the 18th of March, different exhibitors have brought historic cars and a particular stand displays a selection of concept-car in a review dedicated to deisgn.
It is the "Le retour du futur" and among the displayed cars, you can admire the two masterpiece of Bertone as the Lamborghini Marzal of '67 and the Lancia Sibilo of '78 in addition to the Maserati Birdcage 75th Pininfarina, presented in 2005, and three rare Bizzarrini: the Manta, work first of Italdesign in 1968 and the P538 and the Ghepardo of 2005.
In Milan the second Riunione Motoristica
“D'Annunzio, libri e motori, non qui a impolverarsi…”
After the success of the first Riunione Motoristica, that took place in the 6th of January in the historic Vittoriale degli Italiani, the pre-war cars were back to be admired in Milan on Thursday 8th of March.
The event was named "D'Annunzio, libri e motori, non qui a impolverarsi" was organized by the Lopresto Collection with the support of CMAE and the patronage of Milan municipality.
